MIXED MEDIA ARTIST

Originally from Colorado, I have been a Las Vegas resident since 1999.  Although Las Vegas isn’t my favorite place on the planet, I love Elvis sightings and people watching!   

I received a Commercial Art degree from Rocky Mountain School of Art in 1982 and a B.A. in Art Education at MSU in1986.  I’ve lived in various countries in support of my ex-husband’s military career, creating and teaching art along the way.  My favorite places to live are Arizona and Great Britain. I currently love teaching adult creative art classes including but not limited to: collage, mixed media, polymer clay, jewelry, papermaking and bookbinding.  I also commission art work, murals and faux finishes for area residents and designers.  The best day is one where I can enhance someone’s life by making the space they live in more appealing and visually stimulating.

Inspirational or motivational quotes are often a springboard for painting ideas for me and the finished piece becomes a reminder to think positive!  I’m also inspired by found objects.  I have a very exciting collection of bones, rocks, metal bits, leaves, jewelry, paper and cool stuff that I like to surround myself with and eventually use in my art.  Another great source of inspiration comes from my collection of eclectic friends, family and acquaintances whom I would be lost without!
